Thermo-chemical conversion of cigarette butt filters waste through pyrolysis process using thermal analysis techniques

Thermo-chemical conversion of cigarette butt filters (CBFs) waste was investigated using various thermal analysis techniques (simultaneous TG-DTG-DTA and DSC methods) at different heating rates in an inert atmosphere. Thermo- thermophysical properties material were discussed, from the point view chemical structure influence experimental parameters on process. It established that acetyl groups plasticizer (triacetin, TAC) interact with cellulose acetate (CAc) through dipolar interactions hydrogen bonding?s. Influence these polar can affect position glass transition temperature (Tg) CBF. Based estimated value Tg analysis, it found CAc present CBF has degree substitution (DS) equals to 2.8 (DS = 2.8), where presence triacetate (CTA) confirmed. assumed increase DS leads decline crystallinity. A crystallinity causes reduction hydroxyl groups, leading less organized chains, whereby decreasing inter-molecular bonding. examination characteristics tested material, both, heat capacity inertia (TI) linearly temperature, during pyrolysis progression. concluded type bio-char produced this process would have a large store heat, which may depend formed particles size diameter porosity. Furthermore, inferred magnitude drops conductivity (?) after depends fibrillation.
